This is a crochet PATTERN ONLY (not a finished product) for a blanket using the Overlay Mosaic technique, which uses two basic crochet stitches to create a thick fabric featuring a picture or intricate design. This pattern will create a reverse image of the design on the back of the blanket.

The blanket is worked with the right side facing at all times. Each row is started on the right and worked to the left, then finished off at the end. There are no color changes within the body of the blanket.

This pattern is beginner friendly, as it explains how to do mosaic (even if you’ve never done it before)! It includes a chart and instructions for reading the chart, as well as written instructions for the pattern if charts are not your thing! It ALSO includes instructions for using anchored double crochet stitches to eliminate the “gaps” on the back of your work.

You will receive 2 patterns – one each for right-handed and left-handed crocheters!

This pattern uses 2 colors of yarn. This blanket can be made in any weight yarn, but a different weight will result in a different size in the end. If made with “3” weight yarn, the finished blanket should measure about 55” wide x 79” tall, not counting the fringe or border.
